Meet Shrandeep
Hey, I'm Shrandeep and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I believe that healing begins with understanding, and my approach to therapy is rooted in creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Life’s transitions, identity conflicts, and emotional struggles can feel overwhelming, but I believe every individual has the capacity for resilience and growth. My goal is to help clients navigate these challenges with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based strategies that honour their unique experiences and cultural backgrounds. I work with children, youth, and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, emotional dysregulation, and identity-related challenges. I also support individuals navigating major life transitions, relationship difficulties, and self-exploration. My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centred, drawing from culturally adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CaCBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I recognize the importance of finding the right therapeutic fit, which is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and goals before starting therapy. My Story I was born in British Columbia and raised in Alberta, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselling. I have years of experience in the mental health field, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds through life’s challenges. As someone who bridges multiple cultural perspectives as a second-generation immigrant, I recognize the complexities that come with balancing personal identity, family expectations, and societal norms. This understanding has shaped my work, especially with individuals who feel caught between different cultural or personal expectations. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations, including children and youth coping with grief, trauma, and emotional regulation challenges, as well as adults experiencing burnout, stress, and identity struggles. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals who feel stuck in transitional life periods—whether it's adjusting to new roles, careers, relationships, or shifting personal values. My Approach I believe that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. My approach is holistic, strengths-based, and culturally responsive, meaning that I tailor sessions to each individual’s unique experiences, values, and background. In our work together, I integrate evidence-based modalities to support growth and healing. I draw from culturally adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CaCBT) to address culturally specific stressors and beliefs, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and distress tolerance, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to help clients build on their strengths and create meaningful change. I also incorporate mindfulness-based interventions to cultivate self-awareness and present-moment resilience. My goal is to help clients develop practical tools while fostering self-acceptance, emotional balance, and clarity. I strive to make therapy an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their challenges and move toward the life they envision for themselves. If you're interested in working together, I’d love to connect for a consultation and see how I can support your journey. |
